Itinerary

Day 1Arrival

Your party will be met in the airport arrivals hall by the Muirfield Travel team. A private executive transfer to the McLeod House Hotel at Trump International will follow.

Day 2Play Trump International Golf Links

Opened in 2012, Trump International has been a welcome addition to the Scottish golfing landscape and continues to climb steadily up the rankings. Already a ‘must play’ course with many spectacular holes winding their way through the Balmedie dune systems.

Day 3Play Murcar Golf Links then transfer to the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa.

Murcar Links is a Championship layout which has as good a stretch of holes as many of its more famous contemporaries. Definitely not for the faint hearted, it represents a very challenging test of golf. To play it requires every shot in the book and if the wind is up, many more besides. Co-hosted the 2018 Amateur Championship with Royal Aberdeen.

Day 4Play Royal Aberdeen Golf Club

Royal Aberdeen Golf Club was founded in 1780 as the Society of Golfers at Aberdeen and became the Aberdeen Golf Club in 1815. The Course was originally designed by the Simpson Brothers, Archie and Robert of Carnoustie and later re-bunkered and lengthened by James Braid. Many top tournaments including the Scottish Open have been played over the Balgownie Links.

Day 5Play Cruden Bay Championship Course and The 9 hole St.Olaf Course

Some may well say that the best has been left until last. Cruden Bay is one of the few golf courses that can be described as a masterpiece. Completely unique, old fashioned in style and utterly mesmerizing. A round on the nine hole St. Olaf which sits within the championship course is recommended after lunch in the clubhouse.

Day 6Depart the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa.

Executive transfer to the Airport.

Other Golf Options

Royal Montrose

One hour South of Aberdeen lies the town of Montrose and home to the ninth oldest golf club in the world. The present Medal Course owes much to a design by Willie Park Jnr. in 1903. He had made alterations to an earlier layout in which Old Tom Morris had advised. The Medal Course is a fantastic links and has hosted many important events in its history including the Scottish Professional Championship in 1967 and 1970, the Scottish Amateur Championship in 1975 and the British Boys Championship and Internationals in 1991. Montrose is also connected to the first record of a ‘golf widow’. Magdalene Carnegie married James Graham, the 5th Earl of Montrose who reportedly spend too much time on the links.

Fraserburgh

Around 40 miles to the North is the Fraserburgh Golf Club. Golf has been played here since 1613 and much of the James Braid redesign in 1922 remains to this day. This has left the Fraserburgh golf course at Philorth Links one of the most natural traditional seaside layouts in the country.
